Characters played: Säde, Leigh, Annie
Character Name: Ignatius ‘Iggy’ Xiu Ping Guo (休平國)
Age: 28
Suit/Rank: Five of Hearts
History: The Xius are a fairly well-established though not extensive clan. Iggy is from a less central branch, thus while he automatically has a position in the family company, he doesn’t expect to rise very high. Iggy’s branch is largely made up of Hearts, most of whom live in Town. Iggy has lived in Town all his life.
The youngest in a family tends to be doted on, but Iggy wasn’t. He arrived late in his parents’ lives; the gap between him and his next oldest sibling is ten years, nearly twenty between him and his eldest sibling. He was thus more strictly raised by parents who knew what they were doing. They spotted a talent for numbers and grimly encouraged it, determined to have a better child than the last five.
Iggy spent most of his time as a child either crunching numbers or trying to worm his way into his siblings’ offices. Since three of them were in the family business of publishing and a fourth a librarian, they generally put a book in his hands and made him sit in a corner so as not to disturb them. They didn’t really care about recommended reading levels, resulting in Iggy frequently interrupting them for explanations on this or that.
There were two things Iggy vacillated between in his teenage years: his studies and his string of girlfriends and boyfriends. Where one flourished, the other failed. This inevitably led to his getting dumped when numbers stole his attention for too long. And when numbers couldn’t console him, it was books, largely books that fed the fantasy of what his relationships never materialised into.
As an adult, he’s an accountant with the family company, occasionally helping in the Castle accounts as well.
Personality: Iggy’s rather contradictorily a cynical optimist. Whatever he may say about there always being a silver lining, he’s always seeing the darker side of things. He genuinely does strive to make things better for his family and friends. For himself, he’s becoming jaded and used to a somewhat monotonous personal life on Deck, broken up by periods of venturing Outside as the family/company’s representative. This is partially due to every one of his significant others dumping him; as such, he’s come to think of an end as inevitable in anything.
By and large, he doesn't like to make his assistance explicit unless it's asked for. Much of his work and help is 'behind the scenes', and he only makes his part clear as is necessary. He likes being taken for granted in some way, to be a stable base for other people. If he decides to challenge up, it would be because of his parents or his siblings' pressure, not for himself.
Appearance:Iggy is 5’7.5”, comfortably slightly overweight, with black hair and dark brown eyes. He’s generally the kind of scruffy that’s completely on purpose. His clothes are carefully chosen to give just the right casual feel: an old (vintage) T-shirt, ratty jeans and vintage Converse. His day’s worth of stubble is meticulously sculpted to add to the same impression.
Character PB: Jamie Woon

Why this Suit? Iggy has a less stark view of the Suits from growing up in Town, and as such he doesn’t consider the Hearts much more important than any other Suit save that it’s what he was born into. It’s more loyalty to his family than to the Suit that has kept him from switching.
How did you hear about us? Gosh, you know, I can’t remember.
